Give Credit Where Credit is Due

Captain Troy Creasy

I would be remiss indeed if I did not comment why the Sapphire/Chrome Shark is not only still around but is one of our best sellers. We retired the model many years ago because of production problems at the time: flaking paint. It drove me crazy! We tried everything, the paint just would not stick. Captain Troy Creasy from New York, High Adventure Fishing, just would not let it go, the Blue/Silver Shark model was his favorite Shark and that's all there was to it. When we announced we were cancelling the model, Troy kicked up such a fuss; I agreed to make a few special one's for his personal use if he promised not to tell anyone; he did keep his promise, after all, it turned out to be his secret weapon.

I was running late as usual to my committed delivery time; I did not have any of our usual silver automotive paint on hand, so we took a few real chrome Sharks and sprayed them with some of the new automotive sapphire paint specially made for chrome. WOW!!!!! They looked fabulous. I dropped them off at Fat Nancy's, the top tackle shop in New York for Troy. Before he could pick them up, a number of people saw them there; by then it was too late. The word was out, we were swamped with calls to bring back the Blue/Silver Shark. This time we called it the Sapphire/Chrome. Basically if it wasn't for Captain Troy Creasy, the Sapphire/Chrome would have faded into obscurity and been lost forever. Now guys all over the world are catching lots of fish and winning tournaments with the Sapphire Chromes. It is a great third option between the our two most popular yet extreme opposite colors; the Chrome and the Black.

Troy is also the editor of one of the top fishing magazines in the USA; Lake Ontario Outdoors. Troy and his wife Shelley played a major role in organizing the Oswego Pro Am for many years. Troy did a super job at the master of ceremonies for the awards presentations for many years.

Captain Troy Creasy is also one of the original Shark Cannonballs Pro Staff members and has supported us for going on nine years. As long as Troy still wants Sapphire/Chromes, we will still keep making them.

Thanks Troy
Sharkman
