Telling It like It Is: The Pro Am Captains Speak Out

Official Pro Am Magazine

Shark Cannonballs would like to thank the organizing committee for the 2008/2009 Lake Ontario Pro Am Salmon & Trout Team Tournaments for formally acknowledging the winning role the Shark Cannonball has played in the Pro Am Tournament in the official Pro Am Magazine.
For the first time in the history of salmon tournaments anywhere in the world the organizing committee for the Pro Am took the bold step of giving Shark Cannonballs formal credit in reporting the results of the 2008 Pro Am Series.
Up until now it has been a tradition for officials and sports writer's everywhere to only report the name of the lure, the manufacturing company, and the color of the lure used by the winning teams. It was generally acknowledged the lure was responsible for the victories. We have been told privately by hundreds of teams all over the world it was their belief the Shark was responsible for actually attracting the fish; the role of the lure was to hook them once they were there.

It is common knowledge most of the Pro Am Teams have been using Sharks at the Pro Am for the past eight years, an by coincidence these teams have won consistently; but our product has never received the formal credit it deserves for attracting the fish. For us, this acknowledgment by the Pro Am Series is our greatest achievement to date; we have been officially recognized as an integral component of successful tournament fishing.

It is a validation of what we have been telling everyone for years: The Shark Cannonball is much more than a downrigger weight, it is the best attractor on the market; it is the Sharks that attract fish to the spread, once they are there they will hit the trailing lure.
