Shark Trolling Products is extremely proud to congratulate Captain Vince Pierleoni and his dynamic team Thrillseeker for the second time this summer. We were very humbled when Captain Vince joined the Shark Pro Staff program earlier this season, we were taken back when he swept the Challenge Cup Series. Pardon the expression, we were absolutely thrilled when he did it again at the 2nd Annual A-TOM-MIK Invitational. Thrillseeker landed 6 monster salmon weighing 156 lbs, and they did it while they were fighting high winds and high seas. It was the ultimate compliment when Captain Vince shared his victory strategy, Thrillseeker used 20 lb Sharks for both wins.

We have known for some time the big Sharks outperform our trusty standby 15 lb Sharks, hands down, even in shallow water; but who is going to listen to us? Captain Vince settled the argument once and for all, it is no longer a theory: Big Facets, Big Fish, Big Sharks = Big Wins. Not only did the big Sharks behave themselves while pounding the big waves all day and tracking perfectly, they did what Sharks are expected to do; they attracted big fish to the spread, and the rest is history. Of course we must give credit to A-TOM-MIK flies for their role in the wins. What a coincidence, Shark Cannonballs and A-TOM-MIK flies have been racking up some pretty impressive wins together going back 12 years. Shark Week did not turn out so bad after all, Shark Pro Staffer Dave Antenori aka Screamer, took top honors up here in TO, and then Captain Vince finished the week in style to locked up the A-TOM-MIK Invitational in Oswego. I mentioned to Tom we are looking for stories and pictures of how the Mega Sharks performed in rough water. Captains all over the world are paying close attention to the results of the Lake Ontario tourney's, many of them are considering stepping up to the 20 lb Mega Sharks for their everyday charter business. Any info would be well appreciated. Finally the staff at Shark congratulates A-TOM-MIK Tom Allen and Stephanie Stephanie Brace for staging one of the most exciting tourney's of the 2013 season. We fish on ledges all around here trying to find fish and right on bottom. Like fishing 200 feet deep in 210 feet of water.... bottom bouncing pretty much. I take back all that stuff I said about Chrysler in my earlier blog; all that stuff about putting that gas line filter behind the gas tank so I couldn't get at it to change it. This car saved my life. I was driving back from my chainsaw shop, Penner's Farm Equipment in Tara, Ontario with my brand new Husqueverna 640 chainsaw (sweet) The old Husky my neighbour gave to me finally died; it was thirty years old. A silver truck suddenly appeared right in front of me; he ran through the stop sign without stopping. I didn't have time to say what was on my mind, h#*y ! #*!#k! but for sure I was thinking it at precisely that moment. I was traveling along at 50 miles per hour (80 k/ph). I didn't have the benefit of loosing consciousnesses during the impact, it would have been nice. I was totally aware during the whole thing, all I can say it was gruesome. I got an email from a friend fishing the 2009 Masters Trolling Tournament in Denmark. In the email he states he was watching fish come right up to the Sapphire Shark a number of times and then swim off. This burns me up to no end when I hear this; I have been telling guys for five years when they see this happening, it is time to switch to the Black Sharks. If you are using Black Sharks and the fish are swimming off, switch to the Chromes or the Sapphires. The sound generated from the all the Sharks is exactly the same; the bigger Sharks amplify the sound over a greater distance as they displace more water. Curious fish hear the sound and come to the ball from great distances, what they do when they get there depends entirely what kind of mood they are in. If the fish are feeling aggressive while you are using Chrome Sharks they will become even more stimulated and will hit anything running behind it.
